I haven't put anything up on this for a while so I thought I would put one up that is way past due. This is a great song for me to have in the Ipod when I'm out on the road. It makes it easy to pick up the pace when the chorus comes up. The song is "Soul on Fire" by HIM. enjoy.

Songs of the Abattoir 7/31/09

I've been slacking and running behind on my training music lately so this week I'm pulling out a oldie but goodie. This takes me back to one of my days working at a club when me and my sous chef would have our Faith No More Sundays while prepping for the always hated Sunday Brunch. This song also works great as a training tune. So this weeks song of the Abattoir is "Surprise You're Dead" by Faith No More.

This weeks song is one that I accidently had deleted from my mp3 player for and had forgotten about for a while but when I remebered it I couldn't beleive that it took me so long. It is "bye bye beautiful" by the Finish band Nightwish.

Songs of the Abattoir 7/2/09

I can't beleive I've been putting songs up here for this long and haven't had one by Joe Satriani yet. Joe is one of my favorite artists and I've always said that if there was going to be a soundtrack to my life it would have to be done or be made up of mostly "satch's" music. This is off an early album that I've listened to for a long while that is great for those days when you're out throttling the downhills. This weeks song is "One Big Rush" by again the great Joe Satriani.

The song this week is one that is great on those days when I put in the long rides. I just have always like the way the song flows. This weeks song is "wasted years" by the classic Iron Maiden. I went with a live version for the video since maiden is always better live.

Songs of the Abattoir 6/17/09

The song this week is another song by the band As I Lay Dying. I said in an earlier post this band will make several appearances here. This week is the song that really got me back into listening to this band after several years of not following them for a while. The song this week is one of my favorites still. The guitar solo is the music I want to have in my head while racing. When it hits the solo I can just watch my speed and heartrate go up from pushing harder. This is one of the songs I like to listen right before I race. Enjoy.
